Horse Fest, Alias For Horsefest Arrives In March!
Are you a horseman? Or horse enthusiast? The American Competitive Trail Horse Association is now operating in the Ozarks. ACTHA will be at Horsefest coming in March and you won’t want to miss the events! ACHTA is hosting a casual competitive trail ride. What is a competitive trail ride, you ask? The event is casual and packed with exciting competitive hunter jump type of maneuvers. Participants will encounter such maneuvers such as steep hills, opening mailboxes, opening gates, crossing water, jumping trail obstacles things you might actually experience on competitive trail rides.
If you’re a member of a horse pony club or enjoy horse hunter jumper event this is your kind of social event! Enthusiasts of any horse pony club or those or enjoy competitive trail rides will definitely want to attend. The competitive trail ride will be six to ten miles in length. You’ll have 6 – 10 judged obstacles along the way. Just imagine cheering one another on along the trail… Each obstacle has its own judge and they’ll be mostly natural obstructions.
ACTHA has 4 competitive trail horse riding events on their schedule this spring and would like to invite you to join them!
The event is to take place at Eagle Ranch in Collins, MO on March 27th. They’ll have a campfire meet. So, you’ll want to bring you favorite cook-out musical instrument. Also, you can enjoy breakfast and chili lunch, which will be available Saturday. They’re including an Equine Massage Therapy clinic after the awards! It should be a fun weekend.

Vision Con Comes To Springfield MO This January!
Ok, if you haven’t heard yet Vision Con 2010 is being held in Springfield Missouri starting January 22. What is Vision Con you may be asking yourself? It is Missouri’s premier Sci-fi and fantasy convention. Have you ever thought of dressing up like Darth Vader and wielding a lightsaber? Well here’s your chance! This convention brings out the paranormal in people just like you.
A few of the main attractions include gaming, vendors, a masquerade ball and includes movies, both those from Hollywood and those made in Missouri. This is a unique opportunity to view regional film-making talent. Cost you ask? You can purchase a weekend pass for $40, but the art room and vendor room are free to the public. Daycare is available provided by Vision Con.
Are wondering if there additional benefits in attending? Absolutely, You will be able to meet up and coming actors, writers and stars in the sci-fi arena. So, plan on attending Vision Con 2010. While you’re here in Springfield Missouri why not book your accommodations in Springfield at Comfort Inn. We’re located just over two miles from the convention. The Little Theatre…Big Party In Old Hollywood
Springfield Little Theater Associate Board of Directors is proud to present “The Little Theatre…Big Party In Old Hollywood”. This is one of the main arts fund raising event of the year for the Little Theater Springfield. It is looking like an exciting event to attend. You’re invited to dress the part when you attend! Perhaps you come as Warren Beatty in the colorful attire he wore in the movie “Dick Tracey”. Or, if a lady, perhaps you attend as Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’hara and you’d be the crown of the event as one of the south’s most famous belles.
The event is scheduled to take place on the 23rd of January 2010. Individual tickets are $75 and may be purchased online. Catering will be provide by “The Touch”. There will be an open bar, of course. Carol Reinert & Harry Beckett will be playing from 7 to 9. Then from 9 to 12 am you’ll experience The C-Club Band. There will be a live auction of many items such as, a Tandem Jump by Skydive Rolla, Private Dance Lessons provided by Dance with Me, VIP package for Four from the Springfield Cardinals and much more. Again you can see all details at The Springfield Little Theatre’s website.
According to the information we received from The Little Theater Springfield there will be approximately 300 people in attendance. If you plan to be one of the attendees and do not live in the Springfield area and are planning to be here over night we would hope you would plan on allowing us to provide your room accommodations. This course is required of all hunters who were born after Jan. 1, 1967. Participants
of Hunter Education must be 11 years old, or older, prior to or by the final
day of the class; and must attend all three nights of the course.

All classes will be held in Bass Pro Shops Uncle Buck’s Auditorium, located
on the lower level next to camping, from 6-10pm. Pre-registration is required
